The Via dei Fori Imperiali is a road connecting Colosseum with Piazza Venezia. It was comissioned by dictator Benito Mussolini. Every year on June 2 there are celebrations held here for the anniversary of modern Italian Republic.

The road was built over the ruins of the Forum of Trajan, Forum of Augustus and Forum of Nerva. Taking a walk here is very impressive because you're surrounded by ruins.

Many buildings were destroyed to build this road. This is the most densely populated part of Rome. The buildings of Ancient Medieval and Renaissance times had to be demolished. Nowadays there are attempts to reduce road traffic because exhaust and vibration cause damages to the monuments.
